Making finance fun and engaging for everyone!

The adventure kicked off in 1999, right alongside the internet boom. But we didn’t just ride the wave—we evolved, innovated, and embraced the future. Now armed with cutting-edge technology and smart communication strategies (plus a splash of fun), we transform financial content from dry and disengaging into something vibrant, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable.

Traditional institutions might stick to their scripts, but we transform complex financial topics into fun, bite-sized games that employees actually want to play, helping companies boost engagement, motivation, and productivity across their teams.

Why settle for boring when finance can be fascinating?

Chris Boxall

Founder and CEO

Chris is an experienced investment manager, technology investor and co-founder and CEO of Fundamental Asset Management, a specialist FCA regulated investment firm.

He founded MicroFact in 1998 to simplify complex tax and finance-related information into easy-to-read, bite-sized formats. Over time, the Investor’s Champion brand was created to support individual investors with important and engaging insights. In 2024, Chris expanded MicroFact’s mission: to transform financial concepts into fun, interactive games that engage employees with their personal and company finances.

“As someone who’s been around the finance and investing world a while, I know all too well how the industry can make the simplest investment products and concepts impossible to understand and the most interesting topics deadly boring. It doesn’t have to be this way - we can reach far more people with simplicity and fun!”

Chris qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989 but quickly moved beyond traditional accounting to focus on investing — particularly in small, fast-growing technology companies.

Emily Boxall

Creative Director

Emily joined MicroFact in 2024 to lead the development of the brand’s new employee engagement products. She works alongside a team of app developers to transform dry, complex financial information into fun, bite-sized games that engage employees in financial topics.

With a background in marketing, content creation, and journalism, Emily is using creativity and humour to inject new life into the dreary topic of finance.

“Financial information is currently designed for boring, elderly professors who understand what quarks are and spend their weekends debating the limitations of Einstein’s theory of relativity. With the UK facing increasing financial pressures, including the much-neglected pension crisis, this isn’t good enough. This is why humour and fun is absolutely crucial to engaging people in their finances.”

Previously, Emily gained marketing and communications experience at the Chartered Association of Business Schools, TLS Energy, and Domaine les Caizergues. As a freelance journalist for the FT’s Investor’s Chronicle, she explored investment trends from unique angles and used engaging analogies to simplify complex topics.
